In 2000, the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) embarked on an aggressive strategy to sustain the nation’s defense infrastructure, and ensure that new acquisitions are made with longevity in mind. The Advanced Technology Institute (ATI) organized the Defense Sustainment Consortium (DSC) in 2000 for DLA to pursue technologies for the effort. Made up of leaders in industry and Government, the DSC drives business processes and technologies that improve and strengthen cross-organizational linkages and relationships. DSC Centers around the country help organize the search for DoD sustainment partners. DSC’s website is: http://dsc.defsus.org.
In 2007, the Defense Alliance of Minnesota was chosen to be the overall coordinator for the DSC Center of Excellence in the Midwest region, in order to tap into the vast industry resources that are available in this part of the country for DSC related technology and practices.
The Midwest Center for Defense Sustainment website is located at www.defensesustainment.com. DSC members and DSC contact information in the MIDWEST region are located there.
